About Genre Action Rating Rated 'M' for Blood, Violence Summary This sequel to the Square-Enix action game continues the multifaceted air and ground combat of the original. Two lust for vengeance and clash in a bloody battle. But only one can emerge from the conflict alive.1. The combatants that are fighting.Caim from Drakengard is set to battle Guts from Berserk2.
The Location or Setting of the contest. (an open field, a football stadium, the vacuum of space)Football stadium. The stands are filled with all their still-living friends and family (ha!)3. Victory Conditions (is the battle to the death? Rendering the opponent incapable of continuing?
'Ring Out' (ex: throw him into space)Battle to the death4. Battle Prerequisitesa. Motivation is pretty natural hate and desire to mutilate from both guysb. Equipment is Caim's standard sword vs Guts' Dragonslayer and Berserker armorc.
Preparation is noned. 'Bloodlust' is basically their normal state of mind isn't it?e. Knowledge is Guts knows Caim can use magic, Caim knows Guts won't go down easily because of Berserker armor5. Period for combatants is latest incarnation for both6. Continuity or Canon is games all endings, manga, and novel for Caim, manga for Guts. He single-handedly killed Angelus (that’s his dragon buddy until she betrays him because of PLOT) in the C ending.
By this time, Angelus had evolved into a Chaos Dragon, and was able to kill a wyrm, a dragon so powerful that even attacking one was considered both taboo, and suicidal by other dragons. He then proceeds to leave and attempt to fight EVERY OTHER FUCKING DRAGON IN EXISTENCE. Ending C ends there, and there’s no way he got too far after that, but I’d imagine he probably killed a few before he died.insert rage induced Caim screams here. That's blatantly wrong though?Inuart has been training alongside Caim since their childhood days and he was specifically his 'sword-fighting rival'. In fact Inuart most likely realized how Furiae felt about Caim after a certain incident where he accidentally injured Caim happened. Caim shrugged that off as something that could happen during a heated spar but Furiae verbally thrashed the guy for it. He basically left the scene with a look that Caim could not yet understand the meaning of.A day after that, Legna attacked.

I'm pretty sure the game outright states Inuart thought of himself as a child compared to Caim and that was likely before Caim became a Pact-Partner as well.
We later see Inuart basically unable to defeat the few soldiers coming for Furiae despite Caim very easily slaughtering hundreds of them while being critically wounded- prior to being a Pact-partner. Once Caim gets there, we see him killing the soldiers, nothing from Inuart at all.Under what circumstances would he be a 'rival' in any sense of physically matching Caim? Also to be clear. Being 'a child' compared to the kid everyone thought was a prodigy, including his swordfighting genius of a Father (who by the way also personally trained Inuart) is not really a bad mark.Inuart actively fought against the Empire for a long while and he's still alive. He was also specifically thankful for all the training he'd piled up, the skill he'd obtained and the strength he had acquired, that's when he mistakenly though that if he was even stronger Furiae would be his.I'm not saying he's some top-tier fighter prior to his pact but your claim that he's a chump of a human is just plain wrong, it's not even debatable.E: btw, mind chiming in on this thread if you got the time?
Fair enough that he isn't a chump but note that every time Inuart on-screen was dealing with the Empire he was either: helpless, losing, or captured. I believe there's even a scene prior to him being captured where he's losing his shit over the thought of the Empire coming at them. I'm just saying all that confidence and power from his Pact with a stronger dragon put him substantially above Caim at the time and Caim himself was above Inuart even before getting powers. It was a (admittedly perverted and pessimistic, Drakengard does that to you) way of trying to explain-Human Caim Human InuartPact-Partner Caim Human CaimPact-Parter Caim. This I can sort of agree with although I'd argue that Caim wasn't really fighting properly during his first encounter with Inuart due to seeing Legna in the flesh (he even ignores Inuart altogether and rushes at him once he realizes) and whether he showed it or not, fighting his closest friend ought to have been difficult for him, as well as confusing. My problem was only with the assumption that Inuart was some sort of a joke fighter prior to his pact, he really isn't. We even see him fight relatively decently in DoD Judgement although he does get saved by Caim since he sort of froze after killing his first man, but once he's over that hurdle we see him kill multiple adversaries and slicing people in half, so he's definitely at least an 'okay' fighter.
